Back to school!

I am so excited to get back to school this fall. I gave my notice today at work, and my last day will be around June 11th. I am going to work nights at Winchesters, and go to school a couple days a week full time.
I am also thrilled to have the remainder of the summer to play with Jax outside, and just enjoy my time with him. I really miss being at home with him during the day.
We have been really blessed this year with things going our way, so I decided this is something I need to do for me while we are still able to. Keegan got another raise this month, which will help, and he really has been wanting me to do this too.
Sheridan College will be quite a change for me. It is a small community college, but SO cheap so that will be nice.
I will post some new pictures of Jaxon soon, I have some really cute ones of him and Cutter from last week. He has been trying to say new words everyday. We went to the pediatrition last week, and he is in the 93 percentile for height, 66th for weight, and 43rd for head size (I really expected them all to be in the top percentile, haha). The pediatrician was asking about the head tilt he does, and I have never noticed it. Apparently, It can be a sign of eye problems, or muscle problems. As I sit here and type this, I notice that I am and often do tilt my head the same way he does. I guess the strangest things can be genetic!!!

Jaxon's chubby feet thank Zappos!

In my quest to find shoes wide enough for Jaxon's extremely wide (they are seriously like squares) I found Zappos! (http://www.zappos.com/). Living in the middle of nowhere I really appreciated the free shipping (and free return shipping if they did not fit). I ordered the wides and they came in the next day (for free! I was thrilled!). I was so excited, until I tried them on Jax and they did not fit. I am returning them for extra wides. Just wanted to share this great website for anyone else who can't get to a mall without a long drive! They also have really cute toddler clothes by Hurley, Quicksilver, Diesel, Matix, DC, Hatley and lots of other brands. This is my new favorite online store!

We love it when family visits!

We have been really busy with visits from family lately. It has been so much fun having everyone come and see us. Jerry, Heidi and Tess came to Buffalo and we had so much fun! We were so busy I forgot to take pictures!
The weekend before they came, my Dad and his wife Mary came to visit for my sister's graduation. I also forgot to take pictures, but luckily Mary and my Dad didn't!

Jaxon is always excited to have visitors! He would not sit still long enough to have his picture taken though!

The pictures of me and Trisha turned out really bad, so I will not be including that one!

I cut Jaxon's mullet and its keeps growing back...haha. I am starting to wonder if he has some redneck genes or something that keep his hair growing back like that....

Next time everyone is here I am going to remember to take pictures!

New Daycare!

Jaxon started his new daycare this week.
It is always nerve wracking switching, but this time it has been a breeze! Jaxon just loves it, and has made me a craft already this week. (I will upload a picture of it when my computer is up and running at my new house.) He also made me a Mother's Day present. It means a lot that he gets to sit down and do fun crafts with other kids.
I am so thrilled I found the perfect place for him. She does lots of fun activities and I can tell she really loves the kids. When I come get him she tells me tons of stories about what he did that day and is really excited about it. Our nephew Cutter is going there two afternoons a week as well and is doing really good! I am so relieved.
Also, he eats better than I do when he is there...it is all healthy and well-balanced. She is also going to work with him on potty training which will be great.
I have been stressed out about the daycare situation for a long time. I hate feeling like I am not there if he needs something, or that I am a bad mom for having to work. I can say that is finally gone. He learns so much and has so much fun when he is there. I feel like he is at a really fun school. This is the first time I have felt good about leaving him with someone who wasn't family.

Dog? Kitty? NO, that is Grandma's horse!

Jaxon doesn't say horse yet, but he does look natural "riding" one doesn't he?

Way to go Trish!

Trisha received an Art award today! I am so lucky to have her as a sister, and not just because I get drawings of my son (and some lilies) for free!! Here are some pics from the awards today and a video of her speech.

She did this drawing of Jaxon for us!

Here is the picture she used.

Here is Trisha with all the other seniors who got an award.

She is going to kill me for putting this up here. I thought it would be nice for our family to see how great her speech was and how awesome it was she got this award.

Excited I found my cord!

Here is a video! He was kind of grouchy. Sorry it is kind of dark, for some reason they always turn out that way.

Packing Day!

Today we packed up our stuff so it is ready to move on Thursday. We are so excited to get into our new house, because this one is starting to get too hot! Last summer was almost unbearable. Here are some pics from today.
Hopefully we will finish tomorrow and have everything ready to go!

Jaxon was tired when he got home from playing with Cutter all afternoon.

Yeah Way!

Today I told Jaxon no way (his favorite word) to something he was doing and he responded with "yeah way" (which is my usual response). He also said Please (kind of sounds like peas) for the first time yesterday. I can't believe how big he is getting.

Christmas cheer!

We put up our Christmas tree today! We (or, I guess, Keegan) had a little bit of trouble getting our tree straight, which has a horribly crooked trunk. There was some swearing, and the tree fell once, barely missing Jaxon...but it is finally lookin' good! We listened to the Sarah McLachlan Witnersong CD, which reminds me of my Christmas with my newborn son last year. During my maternity leave I would set him in his chair and play that CD, just enjoying the good feelings of Christmas.

I took a bunch of pictures, but I cannot find the cord to put them on the computer. I will upload them as soon as I find that stupid cord.
I have noticed there are a lot of people who do not seem very cheery this time of year. I think some people just get burnt out on the whole idea of another year of buying presents and worrying about what to get and how much you are going to spend. I wonder if some people just forget how much fun it really is. I have been driving everyone at work nuts with my christmas cheer. My sister thought I was nuts when she went to drive my car and heard christmas music. Would someone please let me know the date before Christmas when it is ok to start playing the music??
